Meeting Commitments

The council will meet once a month for an hour and council members are expected to attend at least two meetings per semester. If unable to fulfill this commitment, communicate such to the council chair so that a replacement may be solicited.

• Notification of an absence is expected.
• Members are expected to actively participate in the work of a committee, serve as a committee chair, or serve as an officer.
• Members are expected to attend at least one Staff Council sponsored event in an academic year.

Voting

All members are expected to vote on all matters and concerns addressed in the scheduled meetings.
The Chair will abstain from voting, except in the event of a tie. Topics may be voted on and passed
with a majority of the attending members’ votes, unless otherwise arranged. In the event of a
planned absence, members should submit their votes to the Council Secretary no later than two
business days after the meeting at which the vote has taken place. If a member is absent without
notification to the secretary, they forfeit their vote for that meeting.
