UMaine students awarded scholarships from Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center staff
Physicians and other medical providers at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center recently awarded scholarships to two University of Maine students who aspire to enter health professions in Maine after graduation.
The 2019 recipients are:
- Emma Rowe, of Portland, Maine, will start her senior year in the School of Nursing this fall.
- Andrea Shane, of Vinalhaven, Maine, will enter her junior year in the School of Social Work this September.
The Northern Light EMMC Medical Staff Scholarship is awarded to a select group of students from UMaine’s College of Natural Sciences, Forestry, and Agriculture each year. To be eligible, a student must have at least a 3.0 grade point average, be enrolled in the college’s nursing, social work, nutrition and dietetics, medical laboratory sciences, premed, or communication sciences and disorders programs and have aspirations to work in Maine after graduation.
